Spanish Colonial Revival Architecture

Stanford University Main Quad western archway (1887-1906).
This is an example of Spanish colonial revival architecture. The archway is reminiscent of early Spanish missions with its arches, red-tile roof style, and use of sandstone, but with special details characterized as Richardsonian Romanesque (named after the architect Henry Richardson).
